LONG BEACH — Unemployment rates remained basically unchanged in Clatsop and Pacific counties in February, according to the latest state reports.

Clatsop County’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.6 percent in February, essentially the same as the previous month (4.9 percent), but lower than the year before (5.7 percent). It was essentially the same as the statewide rate (4.8 percent), and the national rate (4.9 percent).

Washington does not adjust county rates for seasonal variations. Pacific County unadjusted rate was 9.7 percent in February, compared to 9.5 percent in the most recent previous report from December 2015. The statewide rate was 6.3 percent, not seasonally adjusted.
