Steven Zamora

WARRENTON — Medix will send wheelchair supervisor Steven Zamora to the American Ambulance Association Stars of Life celebration in April.

Zamora joined Medix as an emergency medical technician basic in 2007 operating a wheelchair van, according to a press release. He moved into the wheelchair supervisor position in 2013.

He is also responsible for upkeep and programming of all radio equipment at Medix and is a licensed ham radio operator.

Zamora has been a volunteer with Warrenton Fire Department for nine years. Wife Shawna works for Medix as a billing specialist and will accompany him to Washington, D.C., for the celebration.

The Stars of Life website describes the event’s sole purpose as “To publicly recognize and celebrate the achievements of all people working in the selfless and heroic ambulance industry. The Stars of Life Program seeks to honor outstanding individuals as a thank you for their service, their sacrifice and the inspiration they bring to all of us.”

According to the Medix press release: “Steven is constantly working to improve his education and his commitment to his patients, clients, and Medix Ambulance. Steven is a highly motivated dedicated EMS professional. Steven serves as an excellent example to all members of the Medix community and truly makes a difference in the lives of those we serve and also those we work with.”
