ASTORIA — US Bank donated $5,500 to United Way of Clatsop County on Jan. 6.

The bank also continues to support Iron Chef Goes Coastal in November each year, which helps financially support United Way of Clatsop County’s 13 local nonprofit agencies, in addition to its employee giving campaign, said Stacey Brown, executive director for United Way of Clatsop County.

Brown and the Board of Directors, along with the 13 agencies, would also like to thank everyone who has supported United Way.

“Your financial help goes a long way in helping those less fortunate in our county,” Brown said. “Your generosity is making a big difference in the lives of many.”

The campaign goal for 2014-15 was $275,000.

“We are at about 50 percent of that goal,” she said. “We are optimistic that we will get much closer to our goal in the next couple of months. Help is still needed, so we welcome anyone interested in getting involved. Corporate sponsorship will be the key to reaching our goal.”

Kevin LaCoste of US Bank welcomes a friendly competition amongst other financial institutions. LaCoste, who also sits on the United Way Board of Directors, is passionate about United Way and what the organization stands for.
