ASTORIA — Mia Norlander, the former assistant manager at Bloomin Crazy Floral and owner of Nordic Flower LLC, is the new owner of Bloomin Crazy.
Norlander takes over from former store owner Diane Berry who died last summer.
Norlander said she is "deeply honored to be carrying on Diane’s legacy."
She said she is excited to bring a fresh, modern vision to the floral business with plans to streamline the ordering process and offer designs that celebrate more sustainable practices, like celebrating locally grown flowers.
Norlander has a loose, naturalistic style and brings over 12 years of experience, floral design institute training and an ability to do all ranges of styles.
Customers can visit the shop's Facebook and Instagram accounts to see current designs and new inventory.
The retail space is being updated with fresh paint and displays as well as a new baby section and gift lines.
The shop is located at 971 Commercial St. in Astoria and is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
