ASTORIA — The Lower Columbia Human Resource Management Association selected two graduating high school students for the LCHRMA Scholarship Program.

Recognized for their efforts in preparing for future careers in business, Cody Lachica of Astoria High School received $1,000 and Amber King of Rainier High School received $500.

Lachica became passionate about business through taking business and marketing classes at Astoria High School and Clatsop Community College. She plans to earn an Associate of Science from CCC and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Oregon State University before returning to Astoria to create a social enterprise.

During high school, King was involved in leadership, basketball and Columbian Crew and was the senior class secretary.

The scholarship funds are meant to be used toward tuition, books and fees at a college or university. For more information, visit www.lchrma.org.
