CLATSOP COUNTY — The North Coast Building & Industry Association discontinued its local organization at the start of September.

In a letter emailed to members in August, executive officer Trina Honan said the association has recently found it harder and harder to be active in the building community for a variety of reasons.

The local board of directors is working to set up its members with resources from the Oregon Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders. NCBIA was a group of contractors, building inspectors, vendors and more.

Over the years it grew a scholarship fund of more than $3,000 for career and technical education programs in Warrenton, Astoria and Seaside.
