This holiday season is unlike any in recent history, and local small businesses need the support of their communities in order to stay open. To help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, merchants are changing their way of doing business, adapting to online models, offering curbside pick-up, scheduling private appointments, limiting the stores’ capacity and more.

Local cities and chambers of commerce urge customers to wear masks, sanitize their hands and shop locally for holiday presents this season. The Astoria Downtown Historic District Association and Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce created a passport-type business trail, found at experience.travelastoria.com, to bring shoppers to different stores and services in the area. Customers will be entered into a drawing to win weekly prizes and a grand prize of a stay in McMinnville for each purchase they make at a unique store between Dec. 7 and Dec. 31.

Coast River Business Journal created this holiday gift guide to offer a look at a few of the many potential presents available at local stores in Clatsop and Pacific counties.
