Tattoo artist and business owner Kevin Fink is among the new tenants at the recently renovated Tinker Towne Mall in Long Beach. Fink said he experiences more foot traffic since relocating his tattoo business from Ocean Park. “You never know who is going to walk through the door,” he said.

A slight change of scenery has made a significant difference for one former Ocean Park business.

In April, O.P.T. Tattoo owner Kevin Fink relocated his shop from Bay Avenue in Ocean Park to a recently renovated space at Tinker Towne Mall in downtown Long Beach.

“Since our move downtown, it’s like night and day,” Fink said. He credited improvements at the nearby Fun Beach Speedway— including a refurbished track, new mini golf course and market — for drawing more foot traffic to the south side of Long Beach.

“We’re noticing more people coming down to this end of town now,” Fink said. Increased foot traffic has led more to people finding their way into Fink’s shop with an array of stories and requests from memorial tattoos to celebratory ink on a whim.

“Every day is interesting,” Fink said. “You never know who is going to walk through the door.”
