The Angora Hiking Club, founded on the summit of Saddle Mountain, is 100 years old, July 4, 2020. To get the party started two years early, club members will take part in the Warrenton Fourth of July parade. Members plan to walk in 1920s hiking dress, and Mike Brewer, in his vintage 1920s auto, will join the walkers.
To get the centennial fun started, and get into shape, all are welcome to join the club’s annual Phyllis Dubb Memorial Flower Climb of Saddle Mountain on Saturday, led by second generation Angora hike leader, Michael Dubb. The group meets at 10 a.m. at the trailhead.
For information, call Michael Dubb at 503-791-5325 or go to angorahikingclub.org, where the complete 2018 hiking schedule is available.
